You’d like to think you’re able to tell the difference between the deceased and the living. You can’t. For some reason, this doesn’t bother you. Sure, you may look down and think everything amid you is still how you left it; except you have this strange feeling in the pit of your stomach- it’s just there and you have no intention of doing anything about it. What could you possibly do?
Double take shadows? Gaze into voids? Sift through the patterns?
(Ironically enough, you actually do most of these things.)
This may seem remarkably contradicting, it isn’t your aim.
These habitual takes have gotten you nowhere, so now you suppose you’ll just live. It’s a funny thing- what acceptance will do to a human being.
And so, you wonder if they ever really wake up happy. You know? If they ever wake up WANTING to embark on some routinely monotonous journey. Probably not.
But you did. You woke up today and you were happy.
